Privacy policy

This policy covers two things: this website (wowchat.thinkmatic.net) and the Wow Chat for Woo plugin you install on your own WordPress site. They behave very differently, so they are described separately.

This website

The site is a set of static pages served without cookies, accounts or third-party tracking scripts. We do not run advertising or behavioural analytics here. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) may be kept by the hosting provider for security and operations and are deleted on a rolling basis.

Forms

The contact, newsletter and Pro waitlist forms send what you type (name, email address, store URL and message, as applicable) to a form-processing service that forwards it to ThinkMatic by email. We use it only to respond to you, to send the product updates you asked for, or to notify you when Wow Chat Pro opens for early access. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click or by writing to info@thinkmatic.net, and we will delete your details on request.

The plugin on your store

Wow Chat for Woo runs entirely on your WordPress server. It does not create an account with us, does not require an API key, and does not send shopper messages, search queries, analytics or any other data to ThinkMatic. The plugin does not “phone home”.

  • Shopper messages, search queries and analytics are processed and stored in your own WordPress database. You control retention and deletion through your own site.
  • Recently viewed products are tracked per visitor to power the Recently Viewed widget, again on your own site.
  • AI FAQ Generator (optional). If you choose to enter your own OpenAI API key and run the generator, your server sends the request — catalog information you selected and your instructions — directly to OpenAI under your own OpenAI account and their terms. Nothing is routed through ThinkMatic. Leave the key blank and no data leaves your site.

Because the plugin runs on your infrastructure, you are the data controller for your shoppers’ data. Describe the chat, search and recommendation features in your own store’s privacy policy as you see fit.
